“The Lion Is Dreaming” è un’opera segnata da un evidente lirismo e dalle notevoli capacità interpretative dei suoi protagonisti, che hanno affrontato questo materiale per la prima volta direttamente in studio di registrazione. Al quartetto formato da Maltese, Tippett, Moncada e Guarrella, si avvicendano o si aggiungono gli altri musicisti – abituali collaboratori di Maltese – per dare a ogni pezzo un diverso colore strumentale.
“The Lion Is Dreaming” is a work marked by an evident lyricism and the remarkable interpretative abilities of his protagonists. They have directly dealt with this material, for the first time, in studio recording. In some pieces other musicians – usual collaborators of Maltese – are added to the Maltese, Tippett, Moncada and Guarrella quartet, in order to give a different instrumental color to every piece.
